Yes indeed, another mine countermeasures exercise will be held in the 5th Fleet area of operations.

This defensive exercise focuses on 3 pillars of maritime operations that ensure that safe, free-flowing commerce lanes stay open: Mine countermeasures, maritime infrastructure protection, and maritime security operations.

As the weeks leading to the exercise come to pass, I’ll be adding some feature posts about ships, aircraft, and facilities that play important roles in the exercise, and are a vital part of operations in 5th fleet in general.

For more information about IMCMEX, click on the image to go to a special IMCMEX section of the U.S. Naval Forces Central Command / U.S. 5th Fleet website, or feel free to email the sailors at navcentpao@me.navy.mil and they’ll adress your question as best as they can.

See you again soon,

Naval Forces Central

Commander, Naval Forces Central Command/ U.S. 5th Fleet is a dynamic environment that demands persistent focus and and provides a tremendous opportunity for engaging storytelling.

Context is a critical part of applying essential elements necessary for leaders and spokespersons to convey meaningful and powerful messages that originate from the Sailors, Marines, and regional partners that operate in the 5th Fleet area of operations.

To help provide this context, Sailors, commanders and experts from around the area of responsibility will use this as a forum to express their thoughts, new developments, and goings-on in the region.

I can’t promise anything, but I’ll strive to keep things interesting, informative and relevent.
